Conservative Businesswoman Claire Chase Announces Run for Congress
Roswell, NM – Claire Chase today announced her candidacy for New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District, which covers most of New Mexico south of Albuquerque.
“Our state is ranked worst in the nation for education and 50th in child well-being because liberal, career politicians are pushing radical policies that support open borders, undermine the industries that power our economy, and threaten our way of life,” Chase said. “We need a businesswoman, a mother, and a conservative who will step up and fight for good paying jobs, better schools for our kids, and a strong, secure border.”
Claire Chase is a Roswell native, third generation New Mexico resident, two-time 40 Under 40 winner, and the youngest and first female Chair of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association (NMOGA). The oil and gas industry alone covers the cost of one-third of New Mexico’s spending for schools, health care, and public safety and provides 100,000+ in-state jobs.
“I’ve taken on the liberals in New Mexico,” said Chase. “I’m ready to take the fight to the socialists in Washington because New Mexico needs fearless leaders in Congress who will support our President and get the job done.”
A graduate of the New Mexico Military Institute and New Mexico State University, Chase’s service started at the New Mexico Association of Commerce and Industry, and the New Mexico Finance Authority, where she was a financial advisor for Southeast New Mexico. She later served local families in the office of New Mexico Congressman Steve Pearce and went on to lead Government Affairs at one of the top energy companies in the state.
The 2nd Congressional Seat is currently held by incumbent Democrat Xochitl Torres Small.
Claire and her husband Chance live in Roswell, where they are raising their three-year-old twins, Cash and Collins. They attend St. Andrews Episcopal in Roswell.
